Doha, Qatar: His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Isa Al-Muhannadi, Chairman of the General Tax Authority, received Mrs. Lesley Chavkin, the Treasury Attaché at the American Embassy in Doha, and Mrs. Ilona Shstrom, the Commercial Attaché to the Embassy.
 
Apart from discussing mechanisms for combating terrorism financing and money laundering, Discussions also included the challenges related to the laws establishing the General Tax Authority, the law on corporate income tax, and the law of the excise tax.
 
The meeting held was within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed by the governments of Qatar and the United States of America in July 2017, which ensured cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, including joint commitments between the two countries to expand information exchange and capacity-building initiatives to counter-terrorist financing.
