The General Tax Authority Launches the “Dhareeba” Application
As part of the efforts and strategies of the General Tax Authority (GTA) for digital transformation, improving the quality of its services and introducing advanced digital services that link the Authority with taxpayers around the clock, the General Tax Authority officially launched the "Dhareeba" application on Tuesday, December 5. The inauguration took place at the GTA Headquarters in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Hassan Al-Malki, Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and a select number of GTA staff.

The inauguration commenced with a speech by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Eisa Al-Mohannadi, President of the General Tax Authority. His Excellency welcomed the attendees and emphasized that the launch of the "Dhareeba" application represents a significant milestone and a translation of the directives of the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, whose support for digital transformation in the State of Qatar is instrumental in fostering a digital society where individuals actively contribute to the construction of a knowledge-based economy.
Commenting on the launch of the “Dhareeba” application, His Excellency stated, "The new application enhances the General Tax Authority's efforts to driving the tax system forward by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge digital services that streamline tax operations with enhanced speed, precision, and transparency. The Dhareeba application allows users to directly track their requests, effortlessly access communication channels, and promptly engage with the relevant GTA departments for inquiries and assistance."
Concluding his speech, His Excellency extended heartfelt gratitude to the GTA team who worked tirelessly to make this achievement, representing a qualitative leap in the Authority’s services and its relationship with all individual and corporate taxpayers.
The inauguration featured an engaging presentation that provided attendees with an in-depth exploration of the “Dhareeba” application, its functions, and key services. The application constitutes an extension of the “Dhareeba” Tax Portal (dhareeba.gov.qa), which connects the General Tax Authority to its partners from the relevant government agencies, as well as taxpayers. The new application aims to facilitate public access to information available through the “Dhareeba” Tax Portal, making a wide range of services readily available to users of iOS and Android devices. With a sophisticated interface and a user-centric design at its core, the application prioritizes speed, ease of use, and procedural clarity to provide users with swift and straightforward access to its comprehensive suite of services. Noteworthy features include a simplified tax return submission service for eligible companies, a payment service, a refund request service for damaged or lost excise goods, and an intermediate excise goods refund service. These features empower taxpayers and enable them to seamlessly manage various requests with efficiency. The application further extends its functionality to include a service that allows taxpayers to notify the GTA of their intention to export, re-export or receive excisable goods. Additionally, it facilitates requests for installments, reimbursement of unlawfully collected amounts, exemption from financial penalties, and the issuance of tax residence certificates.
Mr. Ghanim bin Khalifa Al-Attiayah, GTA's Assistant President for Tax Affairs, stated that the “Dhareeba” application marks an important development for users of the “Dhareeba” Tax Portal, ushering in a leap towards enhanced efficiency, seamless navigation, and comprehensive accessibility across a diverse range of traditional and emerging digital platforms. He also encouraged application users to fully utilize the services it offers and provide valuable feedback through suggestions and comments. These insights will serve as the foundation for future enhancements, ensuring that the services remain at the forefront of efficiency and user-friendliness. Additionally, he highlighted the ongoing efforts to enrich the application with even more features and services.
On this occasion, Mr. Hassan Jassim Al Sayed, Head of the Dhareeba General Supervisory Committee, said: “The “Dhareeba” application is the General Tax Authority's latest contribution to propel the State’s digitization efforts and achieve comprehensive digital transformation across various sectors, in addition to translating it into initiatives and projects that promote the use of digital technologies and their applications in various fields in line with the government's digital strategy.”
